Mental Health Events (MHE) Director [2 positions]

The Mental Health Events Director is responsible for working with the VP Internal Affairs to conceptualize, plan, and organize various events focused on mental health awareness and support. This may include and are not limited to exam care packages, de-stress events, certification course, therapy dogs, and other related activities.


Responsibilities

  • Should assist in the development of a promotion timeline for events. 

  • Responsible for assisting VP Internal with mental health initiatives such as exam care packages and organizing the mental health certification course.

  • MHE directors may conduct needs assessments to understand the mental health concerns and challenges faced by students within the engineering community through polls, q&a's etc.

  • MHE directors are welcome to organize relevant, engaging events which can include securing speakers or facilitators, and designing workshops or activities that promote mental health awareness, education, and support. 

  • MHE directors are encouraged to work with VP Internal to establish and maintain relationships with mental health organizations and professionals, both within the university and in the broader community. This could be seeking partnerships, inviting guest speakers, and leveraging external resources to enhance the quality and impact of mental health events. 


Time commitment: The time commitment for the Mental Health Events Director can vary based on the number and scale of events being organized. On average, you can expect a commitment of up to 3 hours per week. 


Meetings: bi-weekly with the VP Internal.
