Director of Newsletter Operations

The Director of Newsletter Operations is responsible for managing the creation & production of the official ENGSOC newsletter. The objective is to produce a newsletter bi-weekly with upcoming events, student opportunities, and include overall informative and engaging content. 


Responsibilities:  

  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Marketing to develop a clear vision and strategy for the Engineering Society's newsletter. This includes establishing goals, themes, and guidelines to align with the Society's objectives. 

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive content calendar, ensuring a diverse range of topics and relevant updates are covered in each newsletter edition.

  • Coordinate with the EngSoc team, faculty, and other engineering clubs, societies and design teams to gather news, announcements, and other engaging content. 

  • Edit and proofread any newsletter articles to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to the Society's branding guidelines. This includes consistency in tone, style, and messaging.

  • Collaborate with contributors to enhance the quality of content. 

  • Collaborate with Director of Visual content and Director of Content creation to create visually appealing and reader-friendly newsletter layouts. Incorporate graphics, images, and other multimedia elements to enhance engagement and convey information effectively. Manage the distribution process by maintaining an up-to-date email list and ensuring timely delivery of newsletters.  


Time Commitment: The Director of Newsletter Operations can expect to dedicate an average of up to 4 hours per week for content management, editing, and coordination tasks. Additional time may be required during newsletter production and distribution periods, depending on the frequency and complexity of the newsletter.  


Meeting Schedule: The Director of Newsletter Operations are required to attend weekly meetings with the vice president of marketing to discuss progress and upcoming agenda.
